| used to play here as kids, i remember all the huts, as kids we went in every one of them. some of the drawings were amazing. took my kids down a while ago and all was left was piles of rubble very very sad, bridgends history must be preserved. is it our fault we havent got any sympathetic people in council to fight for the cause. a brilliant web site thank you.x |

This was an amazing site, gave me information about the little things that went on during the war and how living was in that period. It seems not too diffrent from present. People will always be the same

| Fascinating and excellent!! Just two words to describe this excellent site. Found out about this due to Robert Ryan's Night Crossing. Will be back for more and have picked up other sites as a result and fully intend to check them out. Well done again. |

What a superb website! An excellent example of how to use a multimedia presentation to bring things to life. Alvar Lidell's broadcast was an inspired addition.
I came across the site purely by accident at work and ended up spending my lunchtime reading the story of the escape. I was hooked.
May I wish you success with this website in piecing together the missing details and compiling what is both a history resource and a source of entertainment.

Am off sick at the moment with flu and to pass the time have been reading Robert Ryan's "Night Crossing" (excellent novel) and in his Author's Notes at the end, he mentions Island Farm and gives your web site address. Logged on and have just spent two fascinating hours on there! I live in Bournemouth and was amazed to find that Merley Park, Wimborne, about six-eight miles away, was a POW camp during the war. It is now a very good camping/caravan park, but I must admit I've never visited it. I think when I'm feeling better, I will take a trip out there and see if there is anything left of the camp. Your web site is excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed (if that's the right word) going through it. Anyway just wanted to say thank you very much for such an informative site and well done. Will certainly visit it again in a couple of months time to see if there are any updates. Best regards Jan Talbot |

I live in Arizona and have written extensively on the German POWs who were held in my state. I have also appeared on documentaries talking about it. What a great website and you should be very proud. I discovered it today and I have it bookmarked. I am the director of a new aviation museum in the works south of Phoenix. Our website is www.pramuseum.org. Thank you for your time and congratulations. Steve Hoza, Director Phoenix Regional Airport Museum |

I also found your site via "Night Crossing" but as one born and raised in Porthcawl I was aware of the camp and had visited it twice. On the second visit I was dismayed to see the drawings cut from the walls but now am reassured that they have been taken to preserve them. I missed seeing any reference to the items regarding the camp in the Police museum at Waterton, is this deliberate? I am President of the MN POW Association whose members were held in one camp in Germany - Marlag und Milag Nord so I have some in depth knowledge of what Pows experienced and felt. (not that I was ever one!). A great site. My parents, as newlyweds, used to cycle around the area and were stopped at a roadblock on the road to Merthyr Mawr on one of the days immediately following the escape. |

| I'm currently serving in the US. Army in Iraq. I find your site very informative. Wasn't there a 1970 movie called the "McKennzie Break" that probably takes some of it's script from these real events? |

As a Prussian military enthusiast I must congratulate the owner of this site for his impecable creation. Never have I been so impressed with the volume, fact and perception in relation to the level of detail of any site. May I say it's great to see a non biast approach to great soldiers even though they may not have been great men. The Wermacht has many things to be both proud and ashamed of.
